Craft Guild Experience

The ultimate camp adventure for the most curious, creative spirits interested in multiple mediums. Experience all of the art discplines the Craft Guild offers continuously for adults. Projects will include clay, glass, painting, bookbinding, and more. Supplies are included.

Different projects will be presented in the morning and afternoon classes of week 1, 3,5, and 7 so a student may wish to sign up for both and make it an all-day camp. If students elect to stay the whole day they must also choose the supervised lunch option when signing up.

Throwing on the Wheel

Learn techniques of shaping clay into decorative and functional pottery, using the potter's wheel. Finish by trimming and painting your thrown pieces. Experienced students are welcome to continue to improve their skills. Supplies are included. (Ages 8-17)

Metals and Jewelry

Design and fabrication techniques will be taught and demonstrated while creating complex wearable jewelry and art projects. Students will learn to use the disc cutter, rolling mill, saw and torch to make metal jewelry. Supplies are included.


Glass Art Warm and Cold

Discover and explore glass fusing techniques and mosaic designs to create unique glass pieces.  Choosing from a variety of colorful glass shapes, your student will make decorative and functional objects, such as window ornaments, fused glass dishes, and wearable jewelry. (Ages 8-17)


Sewing

Learn beginner sewing concepts and basics of sewing techniques. Projects to be discussed first day of class.

Watercolor Painting

Learn techniques to work with watercolor in both abstract and representational artwork. Impress your family and friends with hand-painted cards, as well as larger paintings to hang on the wall. Drawing skills are not required for this class. (Ages 8-17)


The Art of Fabric

Dye it, weave it, felt it! Discover and learn techniques fiber artists and textile designers use to manipulate fibers and fabrics. 2D and 3D pieces will be created. (Ages 8-17)


Printmaking

Unique opportunity to explore and learn the methods and processes of printmaking techniques, including silkscreening and linoleum block printing. Bring your original designs to work with multiple colors to make limited editions of your images. (Ages 8-17)


Bookbinding

A very unique art form - bookbinding! Learn how to make books for sketching and writing. The complete process of putting a book together, from sewing in the pages to making book covers, will be taught. Wonderful materials such as cloth, beautiful marbleized papers, leather, and other decorative options will be used. Supplies are included.


Acrylic Painting

Manipulate colorful acrylic paints into impressive works on canvas. Learn color mixing, composition, and value to paint both abstract works and realistic subjects. Work on your own level with individualized attention from the instructor. Supplies are included. (Ages 8-17)


Stained Glass

Young artists learn the basics of cutting, grinding, foiling and soldering as they create a beautiful hanging art glass piece.


Drawing

Learn to draw, beginning with simple shapes. As the week progresses, more complicated subjects will be introduced. A variety of media, such as charcoal, pencil, and pastels will be used. Inspiration will come from life. (Ages 8-17)
